Day 1 (November 30th)
Part 1: Stand Up Longarm Machine Quilting Basics
Join us from 10:00am - 1:00pm for an introduction to Sand Up Longarm Machine Quilting Basics with Handi Quilter instructor Vicki Kirkvliet. Are you interested in longarming or new to the trade? This three hour class will review the longarm basics and explain how to load a quilt onto your machine as well as frame elements and features, thread, needles and tension education.
Part 2: Fast, Fun and Fabulous Free Motion Quilting
Join us from 2:00pm - 5:00pm for hands on free motion training on Handi Quilter Longarms with Handi Quilter instructor Vicki Kirkvliet. Free-motion quilting is a process used to stitch the layers of a quilt together using a longarm merely hovering over the layers, the operator controls the stitch length as well as the direction of the stitching line. The stitching can be made in any direction and to for curvilinear lines or straight patterns. Each design, whether drawn on the quilt top or held in the imagination of the quilter, is formed with a line of stitching that is guided by the movement of the machine over the quilt.
Day 2 (December 1st)
Part 1: Ruler Essentials
Join us from 10:00am - 1:00pm for an in depth look at utilizing rulers for new techniques. From gripping to manipulating your ruler, we will teach you how to create one of a kind designs or patterns.
Part 2: Intro to Pro-Stitcher
